Pet-2-Ring TM Doorbell F. A. Q's

Q. Why did the Pet-2-Ring tm sometimes ring even though the pet was not pressing on the Push Lever?
A. Sometimes, wet snow will weight down the Push Lever. Also, check to see if any foreign object is resting on the lever. We suggest that you bring the unit inside during severe weather.

Q. How can we correct possible interference due to another unit or some other electronic equipment being used within the range of the transmitter?
A. Check the little electronic leaflets that were included with your purchase. It will clearly explain how you can easily change the pins inside the receivers and transmitter to as many as 128 different codes.

Q. Will other animals, such as rabbits, squirrels etc. ring the Pet-2-Ring?
A. Not likely. If another animal inadvertently press on the lever, it may be because you left some food in the training dish. Clean the dish after each training session.

Q. What is the best way to mount the unit on a brick or stucco wall?
A. Using the template provided, drill 2 holes and pack them with wood or use lead filler to secure 3/16 pan head screws. When completed, this will be firm and stable.
If mounted correctly, the lower rear part of unit should be flush against the wall.

Q. What kind of periodic maintenance will my Pet-2-Ring require?
A. None. The unit is thermo plastic and maintenance free. It has no moving parts, no hinges, nothing to rush or replace. Just keep it clean. Test it occasionally to be sure it is working. If using self-adhesive hooks for mounting, be sure they are secure. Typically, batteries in transmitter and receiver will last about one year.

Q. Why were self-adhesive hooks included but not the 3/16 pan head screws?
A. The building material used on each home may vary from wood, siding, stucco, brick and so forth. So we would not know what type of screws you would need.  Consult your hardware store for their advice. Show clerk the device and template.

Q. The demonstration DVD shows a cat that was trained to ring the Pet-2-Ring was very helpful. However, how long will it take most pet owners to train their pet.?
A. We can not give an exact time in days or training sessions. The cat in the DVD was trained in about 2 or 3 training sessions. Dogs are generally considered easier to train. Please follow the mounting and training instructions carefully. Animals are creatures of habit. This training procedure is called “behavior modification” It has been tested for many years and proven highly successful. Our testimonials give some examples.

Q. Can my 70 lb German Shepard use the Pet-2-Ring and if so, is it necessary to make any modifications?
A. Yes. It can be used for medium and larger dogs. The device is sturdy and can withstand a good bit of pressure. However, with your purchase we have included an acrylic wall mounting plate kit with all the instructions for this purpose. Follow the Do’s and Don’ts and some “Helpful Hits for the larger dog owners.”

Q. I live where we get a lot of rain and moisture. I expect to mount the Pet-2-Ring outside for my cat. Is it weather proof?
A. The transmitter (button) is weather proof and it is also covered by the Push Lever. The Pet-2-Ring unit has been tested in all types of climates and is 100% weather proof. We consider the outside receiver weather proof but it should be inserted in the plastic bag provided so it will be protected from the elements.
